Gentle, Non-Surgical Relief for Disc and Nerve-Related Pain

Dr with patient“If you’re dealing with chronic neck or low back pain, disc herniations, or sciatica—and want to avoid drugs or surgery—non-surgical spinal decompression may be exactly what your body needs to heal.

At Community Chiropractic Center, we use the state-of-the-art DOC Decompression Table to provide targeted, computer-guided spinal decompression. This advanced system gently stretches the spine in a controlled, cyclical pattern, reducing pressure on discs and nerves while enhancing blood flow and nutrient exchange. The result? A healthier spine and long-term relief.

What Conditions Can It Help?

By creating a healing environment inside the disc, decompression goes beyond symptom relief—it helps address the root cause.

What to Expect During Treatment

Each session lasts 15-25 minutes. You’ll lie on a specialized table with a secure harness, and a gentle pulling force will alternate with a relaxation phase. Many patients find it relaxing; some even fall asleep during the process.

Treatment plans typically consist of 18-30 sessions spread over several weeks. Depending on your needs, we may also recommend chiropractic adjustments, movement rehab, or postural support.

This service is not covered by insurance, but we offer flexible, affordable payment options.

Is It Safe for Everyone?

Most people tolerate decompression well. However, it’s not recommended for patients who are:

  • Pregnant (can still treat the neck, not the lower back)
  • Diagnosed with severe osteoporosis (bone loss >45%)
  • Living with an abdominal aortic aneurysm
  • Recovering from spinal surgery with metal implants in the affected area
  • Managing an active spinal infection or metastatic cancer

We perform a full consultation, exam, and any needed X-rays to determine if this therapy is right for you.

What Our Patients Our Saying

I have been coming to Community Chiropractic for over 2 years because they have really helped keep me pain free in dealing with back and neck pain. This past October I learned that in addition to chiropractic adjustments they also do decompression therapy. I met with Dr. Mark for a consult about what it is and what it involves. It was definitely a commitment because I would have to come in twice per week for about 3 months for the therapy on the decompression table which, over this time period, would gradually decrease the compression in my neck caused by my cervical spinal stenosis which was also causing numbness and pain in my arm and hands. I decided to do it and now, 3 1/2 months later, I can say it was well worth it. My neck and back pain are so much more improved. After each visit, I would literally feel a weight being lifted. I felt taller. And the relief I got was long lasting….not just on the day or few days after the therapy. The unique thing about their approach to the decompression therapy is that they also offer nutritional support. I had been reading a lot about how inflammation can cause, contribute to and prolong healing of many conditions and illnesses. Dr. Mark and Dr. Kristen did a year long search for a nutritional program that could truly make a difference in their patients outcomes with decompression. After 3 months of following this nutrition plan, I can tell you, it is amazing!! My regular age related joint pains in my legs, knees, arms shoulders etc have virtually disappeared. Also brain fog, which I never knew I had until I didn’t have it after a month of being on this nutrition plan, was gone! My sleep improved as well. A wonderful side effect of the nutrition part is that I lost 12 lbs. Overall my decision to do the decompression and nutrition have been life changing. I will continue with decompression maintenance going forward. And the nutrition changes I’ve made will be for my lifetime! Nothing is more important than feeling healthy and well. So thank you to all the doctors at Community Chiropractic and to Megan, Jeannette, Grace, and Hannah who make coming into this practice a great experience. I am forever grateful!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is spinal decompression painful?

Not at all. It’s a gentle, controlled process. Most patients report feeling a mild stretch or pressure, and many find it soothing.

Can I get decompression for both neck and back problems?

Yes—unless you’ve had spinal surgery with metal implants in one of those areas. For example, if you’ve had neck surgery, we can still treat the low back, and vice versa.

What makes the DOC Table different from traditional traction?

Unlike traditional traction, the DOC Table precisely targets specific spinal segments and adjusts in real time based on your feedback, making it safer and more comfortable.
